The First Travel Ready SACD
Concept behind the Design One follows the latest trends of the modern Hi-Fi market, tracking the rebirth of portable CD players and the growing interest in SACD collections. At YBA, we decided to combine these two into one unique device, producing the first transportable, battery-powered, SACD player. From small cafes, over cramped office desktops, to proper speaker setups, YBA Design One will smoothly move between them all, bringing the YBA sound to completely new spaces.
Small Size, Top-Grade Components
Even when limited by its compact dimensions, Design One still packs true Hi-Fi components. At the heart sits the SACD drive, combining a well-proven HD850 laser with the advanced MT1389EE system, offering highly accurate playback for both CDs and SACDs. This top-loading mechanism is paired with a custom-made magnetic disc clamp, specially tuned for the Design One.
Audio section utilizes the latest generation of Japanese AKM DACs, adapting the recently released AKM AK4497S DAC, a perfect choice for both YBA tuning and highly accurate sound reproduction. As a compact desktop device, Design One focuses primarily on headphone users and features a balanced discrete headphone amplifier, boosting high power output up to 1.65W @ 32Ω and low output impedance. Alongside the highly precise 100-step volume control, making for an ideal pairing from high-sensitive in-ear monitors to demanding full-size headphones.
Truly Versatile Hi-Fi Component
Apart from the focus on SACD & headphone users, Design One comes with a range of other features, helping it to fit into a wide range of audio setups. Line-Out or Pre-out DAC output can be run from the rear-mounted 4.4mm balanced connector or standard RCAs into a power amplifier or active speakers for a straightforward speaker rig. Or for the full Hi-Fi system, Design One can be used as a CD transport, thanks to its SPDIF Coaxial and USB Audio digital outputs, feeding directly into an external high-end DAC. And when the CD collection is not enough, Design One can be connected to a computer to be used as a High-resolution USB DAC, supporting up to PCM 32 bit / 768 kHz and DSD512.
Design One comes with a magnetically attached rear panel, protecting all the rear connectors when using it as just a transportable device with headphones.
Battery & External Power Modes
As a transportable player, Design One of course features a built-in battery for off-the-grid use in the widest variety of spaces. With two carefully sourced 21700 batteries providing it with stable and clean power for high-fidelity sound in all conditions. And supporting PD3.0 for faster charging.
But when the occasion calls for more power, Design One can be connected to a high-spec USB charger to enable External DC Power mode, significantly boosting the output power available from its headphone amplifier. External power modes require 9V/3A PD3.0 PPS charger.
